Well done to Year 7 who were wonderful on their trip to Lille 5/6 December.
Year 7 pupils had 2 fantastic days in France last week. They spent Thursday in Lille, where they visited the Cathedral, the Old Town and the Natural History Museum before tasting the Meert waffle, a local delicacy. On the second day, we travelled to Arras where pupils visited the Carrière Wellington, an underground network where 24.000 British soldiers prepared for the surprise Battle of Arras during World War I. Pupils then visited the Arras Christmas market where they used their language skills to interact with sellers and purchase gifts and food for family and friends.
Year 7 were praised by all people involved (museum and hotel staff, tour guide,…) for their enthusiasm, good manners and politeness.
