79% of pupils got at least 5 GCSE grades A* to C including English and Maths

 Best ever GCSE results!                        

Pupils at The Charter School in South East London are celebrating their outstanding GCSE results. GCSE and English Baccalaureate results for pupils at The Charter School are consistently much higher than the national average. 39% of all GCSE grades achieved at The Charter School were A*/A.

79% of all students gained at least 5 GCSEs with grades A* to C including English and Maths,and more than a third (36%) of pupils achieved 5 A*/A grades in their GCSEs.

46% of pupils gained the English Baccalaureate. 89% of pupils entered for 2 sciences achieved grades A* to C. 61% of pupils achieved at least one A*/A grade, and 64% of all grades were A* to B.

There were significant achievements in grades gained across a range of subjects:

 

  • 100% A*/A grades were achieved in Chemistry and Physics, and 93% in Biology
  • 30% A*/A grades were achieved in English and 35% in Maths.
  • 93% A*/A grades were achieved in Chinese, 74% in Latin, 54% in Spanish and 53% in French
  • 74% A*/A grades were achieved in History and 67% in Geography
  • 100% A* to C grades were achieved in Art, Drama and History
  • 96% A* to C grades were achieved in Spanish
  • 91% A* to C grades were achieved in French and Geography
  • 90% A* to C grades were achieved in PE
  • 87% A* to C grades were achieved in English and 83% in Maths

 

Head teacher Christian Hicks said today “These are outstanding results, our best ever. Pupils flourish here regardless of their starting points or circumstances, and are encouraged to enjoy their learning. All our pupils have worked hard and deserve to celebrate today, but I am particularly proud of Paul Kalambayi who is our most improved student. Just a few months ago Paul was not expected to gain GCSE’s in English or Maths. He put in an incredible amount of effort and achieved 9 GCSE’s including English and Maths at grades A* to C and can now go on to his full time football apprenticeship at AFC Wimbledon with excellent academic results”.

There were some exceptional individual performances including:

Anja Wylie who gained 14 GCSEs all at grade A*

Anja’s twin sister Eve gained 12 grade A* and 2 grade As

Ruby Hamilton who gained 12 A* grades and one A

Oisin Challen Flynn who gained 14 GCSEs including 11 A* grades and 3 As

Jonah Gimbly Larrington gained 13 GCSEs including 9 A* grades and 4 grade As

Louiza Charalambous who gained 12 GCSEs including 6 A* grades and 6 grade As

Rory Thomas who gained 12 GCSEs including 4 A* grades and 8 grade As

Francesca Anthony who gained 14 GCSEs including 13 at grades A*/A

Brianna Ste Croix who gained 12 GCSEs including 11 at grades A*/A

Edith Baker who gained 11 GCSEs all at grades A*/A

Sam Amadi who gained 11 GCSE’s including 9 at grades A*/A

Imad Gueriz who gained 12 GCSE’s including 10 at Grades A*/A                                           

Several pupils have been praised by their teachers for very hard work and dramatic improvements.They have significantly exceeded expectations:
