The Charter School

North Dulwich

Pupils learn to speak fluently, listen attentively and participate cooperatively in group, pair and individual activities. When writing, students learn to write in a range of forms, from poetry and fiction to persuasive and informative texts. Students will learn to plan, draft and proof-read their work independently. They will learn spelling rules, punctuation and the principles of grammar. In addition, they are encouraged to research the historical backgrounds of texts in order to appreciate and analyse a range of texts from the literary heritage and from different cultures and traditions, as well as studying non-fiction and media.
