Drama at The Charter School North Dulwich is thriving, providing opportunities for students of all ages to explore performance, directing and design. The department is vibrant, creative and nurtures the aspirations of all.

Drama Beyond the Classroom
The curriculum is supported with a variety of extra-curricular opportunities such as, theatre trips, clubs, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) exams and school productions. Previous productions have included, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Hairspray, Grease and Punk Rock. We have excellent practical spaces, and both are equipped with fully functional lighting and sound rigs.

Tuesday and Wednesdays
We run an incredibly successful LAMDA programme. LAMDA runs during the school day and students from across all key stages take part.

Wednesday
Drama Club runs after school and is open to all Key Stage 3 students. The club is supported by Year 12 students, who help to run workshops and all manner of drama activities. Drama Club present a yearly showcase, in which they perform devised and scripted material of their choosing. The evening is a celebration of their hard work and talent.

School Production 2024
This year, The Charter School North Dulwich presents ’Annie’! All year groups are involved, either as a performer, designer or stage assistant. With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants and tourists, Annie is ideal for involving different grade levels. Performance dates –June 18th, 19th and 20th.

Trips
A huge part of drama at The Charter School North Dulwich is the opportunity to visit the theatre. Whether this is a reward trip for Key Stage 3 or to support the curriculum at Key Stage 4 and 5, we believe visiting the theatre is priceless for our young people. Recent trips include; The Homecoming, Life of Pi, To Kill a Mockingbird, Back to the Future, The Collaboration, Red Pitch, &Juliet and more.
Being involved in school productions has given me the opportunity to work with new friends and be a part of something that I never imagined I could do before.
