Musical life at Charter is vibrant and inclusive, encompassing a diverse range of groups and ensembles.

Many ensembles are open to everyone without audition and the department prides itself on having something for everyone, whatever their experience. A variety of musical events, both informal and formal, showcase a range of impressive pieces and give students opportunities to develop confidence in performance.

Many pupils also take individual or group music lessons. There are over 15 different music groups or ensembles every week, including a very active school orchestra, guitar groups, percussion groups and a jazz ensemble.

We are supported by many national organisations: The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Theatre and Dulwich Picture Gallery, to name a few. Full details of after school music clubs and ensembles are below.
Playing with other musicians has helped me get better at my instrument and I get to play with students from different year groups.
