This week in November a group of year 9 students journeyed to the Victoria and Albert museum for a day jam-packed with events at the Upstart Festival — a festival dedicated to young people exploring careers in fashion. Students had the rare opportunity to handle museum items, such as musical and TV costumes; hear tips from professional insiders in the fashion industry; visit some of the museum's galleries and get hands on with workshops. They learnt how to make three-dimensional denim flowers and got creative designing with wool. Thinking of a future in fashion? Better start knitting!
