Sixth form students at The Charter School North Dulwich in South East London are today celebrating a set of brilliant A level and BTEC results. We are exceptionally proud of all our students, and the resilience and perseverance they have shown over the past two years in completing their A Levels following the challenges and significant disruption caused by the pandemic.

  • 60% of all A level grades awarded to students at the school achieved A*/A this year, up from 44% in 2019 and only marginally below the 64% of 2021.
  • Those awarded A*-B grades have increased to 84%, up from 72% in 2019.
  • 72% of students achieved at least one A grade or equivalent, with over 39% of students gaining an A* or A in each of their subjects.

The vast majority of students will progress to their first choice of university, college or apprenticeship, including three students who have secured places at Oxford and Cambridge and three who are going on to medical school or to study veterinary science.

It was also another strong performance this year in BTEC subjects with 87% of students taking the Sports BTEC gaining a Distinction or Merit grade, 86% gaining a Distinction or Merit in the ICT BTEC and 90% of gaining a Distinction or Merit in the Business BTEC. 56% of all BTEC grades were Distinction* or Distinction.

The Charter School North Dulwich is an inclusive, state funded secondary school recognised as one of the top schools in the country for achievement in sixth form. Executive Headteacher, Christian Hicks said today:

“Our students have shown incredible focus and drive to succeed, and their resilience and work ethic during these past two years is evidenced in these results despite the challenges and disruption to their education.

I am incredibly proud of the results achieved. This is down to the hard work and commitment of the students, teaching staff and the pastoral team, including the work of our Head of Sixth Form, Ms. Fletcher, and the whole sixth form team.”
